How To Make Hair Mask For Dry Hair & Healthy Snack At The Same Time!

Does your hair look rough with split ends and messy and it seems it hasn’t been combed for days? Then you have plenty of reasons to use a hair mask.

Do you feel your hair craving for a hair mask for dry hair?

Then your hair is really thirsty.

Here you go, three yummy home remedies for dry hair to choose from!

They are fast to make with easy ingredients which you probably already have in your kitchen and they cost far less than a branded hair mask for dry hair.

And the best thing is you can eat them too!

If you like bananas (who doesn’t?) and avocado, then I encourage you to taste them. They are delicious and extremely nutritious. You can take care of your hair from the inside and the outside; hair health and beauty, all at the same time. So, there you have it, you can kill two birds with one stone!

In fact, dyeing, styling tools and extreme weather conditions make the hair feeling thirsty, since it loses its natural moisture.

And I know how much you hate that, I do too. You don’t like seeing your hair dull and sad, do you?

Are you ready to DIY hair mask?

So go ahead, make your hair happy and feed it something tasty.

You apply the remedy as you usually do with your branded mask, but the treatment must be done before washing your hair. These are pre-poo hair treatments!

How To Make Hair Mask For Dry Hair And Healthy Snack At The Same Time

Hydrating Banana Hair Mask For Dry Hair

(or a Delicious Smoothie)

Ingredients:

  • 1 (ripe) banana
  • 250 ml (1 cup) coconut milk
  • 1 tbsp honey

Implementation:

  1. Put all the ingredients in the blender.
  2. Mix them up well until you have a nice and smooth paste.
  3. If the paste is too thick and unmanageable add some coconut milk to make it creamy like a mask.

I love to drink it as a smoothie too! I add a pinch of cinnamon powder on top to enhance the flavor.

It’s so tasty!… And healthy too.

Rejuvenating Banana Hair Mask For Dry Hair

(or a Nutritious Breakfast/ Snack) 

Ingredients:

  • 1 (ripe) banana
  • 125ml (½ cup) yogurt full fat
  • 60ml (¼ cup) honey

Implementation:

  1. Put all the ingredients in the blender
  2. Mix them up well until you have a nice and smooth paste.
  3. If the paste is too thick and unmanageable add some drops of water to make a uniform cream.

Usually in the afternoon when I crave for sugar and I want to eat a large piece of banoffee cake, this is a nice alternative (ok, sort of). It’s not the same, I know. But it takes my sudden hunger for sweets away.

It works, it’s healthy and it’s a good hair mask for dry hair too.

Nourishing Avocado Hair Mask For Dry Hair

(or a Tasty Snack) 

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil

Implementation:

  1. Take the avocado and peel it.
  2. Mash the flesh with the olive oil and coconut oil in a blender.
  3. Mix them up well until you have a nice and smooth paste.
  4. If the paste is too thick and unmanageable add some drops of water to get a creamy texture. It’s better to use raw virgin coconut oil and virgin olive oil.

This is a different and so nutritious snack. If you choose to make this hair mask then you should also have a bite. Toast a slice of bread and use the mixture as a spread. If you want, add some salt and pepper too. If you want to eat it, make sure you have used in the blend edible coconut oil and olive oil, ok?

Avocado is a great food with buttery texture, has vitamins and fatty acids which promote hair growth and prevent hair loss.

Ingredient benefits of these hair masks for dry hair.

General instructions for the hair mask application:

  • Apply the creamy mixture on your hair to cover it evenly.
  • If your scalp is dry, dip your fingertips into the mixture and massage your scalp with circle and gentle movements for 3 – 4 minutes. If your scalp is oily but you have dry hair, avoid the roots and apply only from middle to tips.
  • Cover the scalp and hair with a shower cap. If you like put above a (warm) towel.
  • Wait for 20 – 30 minutes.
  • Wash your hair as usual. For better results choose a mild shampoo and avoid using hot water to rinse, as it dehydrates the hair and scalp.
  • Use as a hair treatment once a week for one month and then reduce as you please.
  • If you don’t see results after a month’s treatment, maybe your hair doesn’t like it. So try something else. Definitely your hair will help you figure it out.

I love using branded hair masks and if I am in a hurry they are really convenient. However, I have a lot of fun making home remedies on my own and trying them on my hair. It’s no rocket science, completely safe and all natural, so why don’t you give it a try.
